Remuneration will be negotiated with the successful candidate, and will likely fall between $30-$40 p/h.

In our small team, we utilise placemaking,  co-design, and creative, experimental strategies. All our work is underpinned by our kaupapa, and is divided across three key streams; Community, Creative, and Commercial.

In Community projects,  our mahi sees us working alongside local communities or groups to develop projects and build them together, with a strong emphasis on connection and skill development.

Our Creative work allows us to lead projects to test new ideas for urban greening and activating our city. We utilise placemaking approaches, such as tactical urbanism, and often work in collaboration with other organisations to create projects that increase the vibrancy and liveability of Ōtautahi Christchurch.

Our Commercial supports the other two streams, and work in this area often involves creative indoor greening, or working to clients briefs to deliver landscaping projects.

No two weeks are the same! We enjoy responding to the changing context and needs of our city and strive to make each project meaningful.

A more detailed role description can be found here. You can also view more about The Green Lab’s Organisational Values and Services here.

Good people are at the core of what we do – if you love the kaupapa but your specialty is in only one aspect of the role, (i.e. design but not construction, or vice versa) please get in touch – we are open to shaping the role(s) around the right applicants. We may also consider working with folk on a project by project basis.

The Green Lab welcomes and encourages diversity in our workforce and adheres to best practice equal employment opportunity principles in all aspects of our recruitment and our ways of working.
